ASN Conversion Tool

Customers: Many receiving and inventory systems used by structural steel fabricators and service centers can directly import the Advance Shipment Notice (ASN) XML file. Please contact your information systems administrator for guidance.  

For those customers who would like to read, print, and store a paper copy of the ASN file, AISC is providing an online conversion service. Customers may choose to view the Advance Shipment Notice in the basic ASN format or as a mill test report (MTR), if such data is included. Customers may upload the ASN file received by their supplier and choose to have the file converted to a web page (HTML) opened in a standard web browser, such as Internet Explorer , or as an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file using Adobe Reader software. 

Suppliers:  For suppliers of structural steel seeking to generate ASN XML files, please download the schema, an XSD file that provides a template for which to generate and validate ASN XML files.  AISC recommends using a program such as XML Spy to create, edit, and validate the ASN XML data.
